Who/what inspired you to become a teacher?
I wanted to become a teacher because I could witness students grow and learn, but I also wanted to be someone who could teach how to understand others, love learning, and appreciate themselves.
Who is someone you really admire and why?
I admire my mother who brings energy and laughter into a room with her presence and puts her all into everything she does.
What is the best advice you have ever heard or received?
Instead of reacting to things, learn how to respond." How a person responds says a lot about them, and while reacting is instinctive and a defense mechanism, responding is growth oriented and uses both the unconscious and conscious mind. When you respond, you do things with intention that you won't regret later.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
My first name is Ion because my mother, a former chemist and current Algebra teacher, named me that. If I had a brother, he may have been named Atom.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would like to learn how to surf or play the baritone saxophone.
