Our 5th - 8th graders were treated to a special assembly today. Stuart Woo, class of 2000, talked to the students about his career as a journalist for "The Washington Post." He came at the invitation of Mr. Morris - one of his teachers when he attended WPLS. He even shared a pictures of himself and Mr. Morris when he was in 7th grade. After graduating from WPLS, Stuart went on to graduate from Lick-Wilmerding and then Brown University.

Stuart is currently living and working in the Bejing office. He shared that he has worked in the New York and London offices as well. It was interesting to hear about the people he has interviewed and the events that he has covered. The students were especially interested to hear that his travel expenses were paid for by "The Washington Post."

It was a joy to meet one of our former graduates, and see the joy he had in greeting "old" teachers. While at WPLS, Stuart had Ms. Sandvik, Mr. Holt, Mr. Jacob, and Mr. Morris. Ms. Lau was also a student at WPLS when Stuart was here. It was truly a pleasure to meet Stuart and hear of his success since graduating from WPLS.
