Earlier in the year, our 6th-8th grades wrote essays for the VFW Patriot's Pen essay competition. 13 students were chosen from our school to move to the Post (local) competition. Three of our students: Jett Li (7th grade) placed 3rd, Sydney Lai (8th grade) placed 2nd, and Andrew Ng (6th grade) placed 1st.

Andrew's essay moved on to the district level - which is the entire Bay Area. Andrew won 1st place! He was honored at the VFW district meeting last Saturday in Pleasanton. The VFW will present an award to the post winners during National Lutheran Schools Week.

Congratulations to all of our students - especially Andrew, Sydney, and Jett!
