What is your favorite thing about teaching?
Working with the children, helping them to be creative and self motivated to learn.

I am a respected published composer of handbell, organ and choral music.
Who/what inspired you to become a teacher?
I knew at an early age that I was called to be a teacher, following the encouragement of several special teachers over the years.
Who is someone you really admire and why?
There are several people I admire but Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King stands out. Growing up in the South during the 1960's I learned that it is imperative never take our civil and religious freedoms lightly. To stand up for equality and mutual respect and freedom to live fully as a child of God.

What is the best advice you have ever heard or received?
Listen always and always be slow to speak.
