What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I feel challenged and accomplished when students begin asking me questions that require proofs and more constructive explanation.
Please describe anything unique or interesting in your background that is relevant to the job.
I made Origami since childhood, so geometric shapes were the easiest concept for me in geometry class.
Who/what inspired you to become a teacher?
When I started to tutor middle school students during my college years, I really enjoyed teaching math to them.
Who is someone you really admire and why?
Ken Carter, the basketball coach who inspired the movie "Coach Carter". He taught self respect and academic importance to under-resourced students in Richmond High School. He prepared the basketball team to be successful at four year universities.
What is the best advice you have ever heard or received?
Be honest to yourself and tell the truth, after that it's not your problem.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
During my college years, I rode a motorcycle Suzuki Hustler 250CC around the lakes of Mount Fuji. Also, I won first place in a motorcycle safety ride competition held in Kofu-city, Japan.
