What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I enjoy getting to know each new class. What worked during one year, may not work the next. That challenge keeps things interesting and fresh.
Who/what inspired you to become a teacher?
I was inspired by my sixth grade teacher. She encourage us to write stories, present plays, and to find our creative side.
Who is someone you really admire and why?
The life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. continues to inspire me. Third graders are always captivated by how he lived and what he was able to accomplish.
What is the best advice you have ever heard or received?
Do everything without grumbling or complaining. Philippians 4
What is the coolest or most important (teaching/learning/educational) trend you see today?
The amazing research that is being done about the brain and how it works. The conferences I have attended about the subject offer information that is very useful in the classroom.
