Denise Fong

Denise was born and raised in San Francisco, and is even an alumna of West Portal Lutheran School. She went on to study at UC Davis, earning her degree in Managerial Economics. While at UC Davis, she spent a semester abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, immersing herself in Chinese language and culture. Her love for travel and adventure led her to pursue her master’s degree in English, with a focus in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) and a teaching credential from San Francisco State University. Denise continued on to teach English in Hong Kong for the past 12 years, developing a creative reading and writing curriculum.

As a teacher, Denise is determined to inspire and motivate students to become flexible and resourceful learners. Her goal is to help equip and train them to embark on a journey of lifelong learning. As a Christian, her goal is to help them think about everything in a way that is grounded in Scripture.
When Denise isn’t in the classroom, you might find her in a kitchen whipping up a bowl of fresh ramen or a baking batch of chocolate chip cookies. She also enjoys taking long walks, reading, and watching movies.
